If you haven’t yet seen the Minneapolis College of Art and Design’s new exhibit, “Studio Furniture: The Next Generation,” visit this Friday and attend a lecture by Wendell Castle at 6:30. Castle, arguably the father of the American studio furniture movement, will discuss its history. (Find his pieces for your own collection at the Sayre Strand showroom in International Market Square, Suite 222.) The exhibit in the main gallery, curated by Dean Wilson, head of MCAD’s furniture design program, showcases works by 15 young artists and their use of experimental materials and concepts. The exhibit continues until February 21.
