A Glimpse Inside Interior Motive
Hudson, Wisconsin interior designer and former Ethan Allen project manager Kari Schardin opened a fresh, unexpected retail space/boutique in mid-March called Interior Motive. Right on Stillwater's main strip, the 1,700-square-foot space feels much cleaner and contemporary than many of Stillwater's other boutiques and shops, which its collection of lamps, accessories, accent tables, and artwork from the likes of Zodax, Leftbank Art, Iittala, and Torre & Tagus. "The shop is definitely more contemporary than traditional, and I tried to bring in lines that people haven't seen in Stillwater before," says Schardin. If you're going to the St. Croix Garden Tour on July 18 & 19 (which includes seven gardens from Stillwater and winding north the lovely hamlet of Marine on St. Croix), you should stop in a Kari's shop and browse around. Interior Motive is at 116 Main St. S., Stillwater, 651-430-1357, but there's no website yet.
