Candy Land

Just the thing for that post-Halloween sugar crash: the new south Minneapolis sweets shop, Sugar Sugar Candy. Owner Joni Wheeler, whose work as an expert gift-package wrapper you’ll see in the next issue of Midwest Home (on the newsstand Nov. 12th), is stocking a candy connoisseur’s dream of boutique confections. There’s something for every taste (as long as it’s sweet), from retro to contemporary: Bit-O-Honey, absinthe cordials, organic jelly beans, Satellite Wafers, chocolate mustaches, fresh marshmallows from local maker Susan Dietrich of Very Prairie. Check it out at 3803 Grand Ave. S., Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 12 to 5 p.m.

‘Stache on a stick, $10. Comes in Gentleman or Teddy (Roosevelt) style, milk or dark chocolate.
