Ready, Set, Shop
I just came from International Market Square, where I got a preview of the offerings in the annual ASID Great Finds Designer Home Furnishings Sample Sale. I couldn’t believe some of the price tags I spotted—this Century raw silk sofa (regularly $5,860) for $1,995 and the aged eglomise cocktail table is $1,475 (regularly $3,750). And plenty more—prices on designer furniture, home accents, and décor items are 50 to 80 percent off the original retail. A record 34 showrooms are participating this year, with bargains large and small in a Couture Room, Designer Flea Market, and Rug Bazaar. My advice: Go for it. The sale at IMS runs today, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Rosewood and walnut bedside tables. Retail price: $ 4,200. Sale price: $1,800
