The eight annual Homes by Architects Tour is only a few days away, and many who have attended the tour before know that planning your tour route ahead of time is a smart strategy. Visit the tour website, homesbyarchitects.org, to purchase your tickets in advance and view the tour map. Many loyal tour goers challenge themselves to visit all of the tour homes during the weekend. Are you up to the challenge?

Be sure to visit the website’s Frequently Asked Questions page to familiarize yourself with the rules of the tour. Shoe covers are provided at each of the tour homes — bringing your shoe covers with you from home to home is a smart way to save a little time at each location.

With construction season still in full force, check the MNDOT website before you head out this weekend to get the latest information on road closures and detours. You can download and print driving directions on the website.

Whatever your reason for visiting this year’s tour, be sure to take your time at each home, pay attention to the details, and listen to what the architects have to say about their designs. The architects look forward to speaking with tour goers each year!

Advance tickets are available online or at AIA Minnesota for $15 (until 2 pm on September 18). They will also be available at each home during tour weekend for $20 for a full ticket or $10 for an individual home.
