A Bohn’s Point masterpiece shows off its formal flair
Stonewood, LLC aimed for elegance with this formal five-bedroom, five-bath house that feels as polished as a 5,800-square-foot French mansion. Anchored on Lake Minnetonka’s exclusive Bohn’s Point, this home has two major themes: stunning millwork and sumptuous materials—clear alder cabinetry, Carrera marble, and more than 5,000 square feet of dark-chocolate Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring. That means egg-and-dart crown molding in the great room, elegant paneling on the walls of the dining room, detailed touches on the walls and ceiling of the conservatory, and arches, balustrades, and balconies galore. “Typically, we build cottage-style homes on the lake,” says Sven Gustafson, president of Stonewood and a fourth-generation builder whose grandfather handcrafted homes in the 1920s in Wisconsin. “But this one was entirely custom, from top to bottom.
