> Exterior renovation and kitchen remodel
Age and weather had taken their toll on the exterior of this Edina 1912 Arts-and-Crafts bungalow. And its owners wanted a larger kitchen.
Having done some interior painting, the owners turned to Authentic Construction for the remodeling work, including a rear addition that enlarged the kitchen and created a flexible entertaining area. “Now the when you are cooking, you face the rest of the home and everyone who’s hanging out in the house can congregate at stools or the window seat,” explains Sid Levin, director of design for Authentic Construction. “This is a very nice example of how you blend a new space into a great house and make it feel seamless.”
Outside, nothing went untouched, and new porch reflects the graceful curve of the dormer window above. “Every surface you can see with the eye on the outside of the house is either new or repaired,” Levin says.
