2008 Remodeler of Merit Awards (ROMA)

Each year, Twin Cities remodelers are recognized for excellence with Remodeler of Merit AwardsSM (ROMAs). The Builders Association of the Twin Cities RemodelersSM, a council of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC), announced the winners of the 27th Annual Remodeler of Merit Awards in April.

In 2008, 103 entries in 16 categories covered remodeling projects of all types: additions, kitchens, baths, decks and patios, interiors, lower levels, owners’ suites and bedrooms, total home renovations, and other special projects. Designed to honor outstanding remodeler members and their work, the awards recognize quality, design, and how well the project met client requirements. A panel of professionals reviewed all entries, choosing the winners based upon before and after photographs, floor plans, and a design statement explaining the challenges and needs of the client, solutions devised by the remodeler, and the success of the project.

Three remodeling firms earned multiple awards: Stonehouse, Inc.; Aulik & Associates, Inc.; and Wooden Dreams, Inc. each won two ROMAs. Nine other firms were honored with one award each. And Michael Reel Builders & Remodelers, Inc. was named Best First-Time Entrant for scoring the highest of the 11 remodelers entering the ROMAs for the first time.

The Builders Association of the Twin Cities Remodelers is a group of professional, licensed remodelers who subscribe to a defined code of ethics and building standards.
