It’s cold. It’s dark. It’s snowy. And winter has only just begun. What better time to bring some green into your life—coffee-table style—than during the holiday season? Gardens Private & Personal (Harry N. Abrams, 2008) takes you on a tour of more than 90 private gardens owned and lovingly tended by members of the Garden Club of America, including Marge Hols’ English-style masterpiece in St. Paul and Colles Larkin’s ivy-covered sanctuary in Dellwood.

Luxury meets sustainability at Casa Verde, the new kitchen and bath showroom that took over Bjorling & Grant’s former storefront on W. 50th Street in south Minneapolis. Launched by kitchen and bath designer Rosemary Merrill and local entrepreneurs Susan H. Brunn and Susan Jacobs, the 2,800-square-foot space offers earth-friendly—or, as the owners term it, “eco-luxe”—interior-design services and innovative products for kitchen, bath, and bed. The new shop carries Libeco Belgian Linens, Q Collection Fabrics, and Swan’s Island Throws, among other lines. 911 W. 50th St., Minneapolis, 612-353-4401, www.casaverdedesign.com.
