6 oz. ketchup
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. chili powder
½ tsp. dry mustard
¼ tsp. white pepper
¼ c. brown sugar
1 tsp. beef base
2 Tbsp. liquid smoke
¼ c. Worchestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. plus 1½ tsp. vinegar
1 c. water
3 Tbsp. onions, chopped
Preparation:
Sautee the onions in a large pan until they turn translucent. Add sugar, spices, and water. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer. Simmer for 5-10 minutes, then add remaining ingredients and stir. Serve in cruets for dipping, or brush onto meat.
