2007 ROMA Award Winners

The Builders Association of the Twin Cities Remodelers, a council of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC), is proud to announce the winners of their 26th Annual RemodelorTM of Merit Awards (ROMA). The winners received their awards at a banquet held at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Minneapolis on Tuesday, April 17, 2007.

In this year’s ROMA awards, there were 113 entries in 16 remodeling categories that included additions, baths, kitchens, lower levels, deck/patio, home office, special and total house. Designed to honor outstanding remodeler members and their work, the awards recognize quality, design, and how well the project met client requirements. A panel of professionals reviewed all entries, choosing the winners based upon before and after photographs, floor plans, plus a design statement explaining the challenges and needs of the client, solutions devised by the remodeler, and the success of the project.

“The ROMA Awards are the highest honor a local remodeler can receive,” explains banquet emcee and former BATC Executive Vice President, Bob Hanson. “Judged by skilled industry professionals, ROMA winners can be proud that their work has been compared with that of the area’s top remodelers and found to be the best.”

Two companies, Authentic Construction Co., Inc., and Aulik & Associates, Inc., earned multiple awards. Authentic Construction, headquartered in St. Paul, won three ROMA Awards for Additions 300-800 Square Feet, Kitchens under 200 Square Feet, and Special Project. Aulik & Associates, with offices in St. Louis Park, took home four awards for Bathrooms under 50 Square feet, Interiors More than One Room, Special Detail Components and Total House over 2,500 Square Feet). Nine other firms won one award each. And DiGiacomo Homes, Inc., of Minnetonka was named Best First Time Entrant for scoring highest of the 11 remodeling firms entering the ROMAs for the first time.
