2005 ROMA Award Winners
2005 Remodeler of Merit Award (ROMA) Winners Announced
The Remodelors Council of the Twin Cities, a branch of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities, is a group of professional, licensed remodelers who subscribe to a defined code of ethics and building standards.
They are proud to announce the winners of the 24th Annual Remodeler of Merit Awards (ROMA). The winners received their awards at a banquet held at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Minneapolis on Tuesday, April 26, 2005.
In this year’s ROMA awards, there were 99 entries in 16 remodeling categories that ranged from kitchens to baths, decks to whole-house remodels. Designed to honor outstanding remodeler members and their work, the awards recognize quality, value, and how well the project met client requirements. A panel of professionals review all entries, choosing the winners based upon before and after photographs, floorplans, plus a design statement explaining the challenges and needs of the client, solutions devised by the remodeler, and the success of the project.
“The ROMA Awards are the highest honor a local remodeler can receive,” explains Ali Awad, president of the Remodelors Council of the Twin Cities and principal with Awad and Koontz Architects Builders, Inc. “There’s a real sense of pride in having industry professionals judge your remodeling project to be a winner when compared with the work of some of the area’s very best remodelers.”
Several companies earned more than one award at the banquet. Streeter & Associates won three ROMA Awards, one Best of Show Award and one Honorable Mention. Plekkenpol Builders, Inc. took home two ROMA Awards, one Best of Show Award and four Honorable Mentions. Other remodelers who received multiple awards were Otogawa-Anschel General Contractors, Authentic Construction Co., Inc., Stonehouse Designs, Inc., Knight Construction Design, Inc., Fey Construction, Inc., and Sennes Design/Build, Inc.
