M|A|Peterson hosts remodeling seminar

Due to great response from homeowners, M|A|Peterson is continuing its remodeling seminar series on Saturday, March 14, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Hosted at the M|A|Peterson Design Center in Edina, the free seminar offers homeowners insight and information about the remodeling process, help in thinking through all phases of a project, and a chance to ask questions before taking the first step. Luxury furnishings, sample sale prices at new Martha O’Hara showroom

Martha O’Hara interiors opened a showroom and warehouse in December, offering luxury furnishings at sample sale prices. Similar to a boutique furniture store, the showroom carries a variety of manufacturers and furnishings, from large furniture pieces to small accessories. The next sample sale is March 4-8. With prices 40-75 percent off retail during the sale, Martha O’Hara’s furnishings are as easy on the wallet as they are to the eye. Lake Country Builders is first to earn second GreenStar certification

Lake Country Builders marked two milestones in the Minnesota GreenStar new home building program late last year. The company was the first builder to complete a second new home to be certified by MN GreenStar. ASID, NKBA recognize Belle Kitchen’s work

Belle Kitchen designer Tricia Bayer, along with co-designer Jean-Claude Desjardins, and Anita Sullivan of Anita’s Designs, were recognized by the Minnesota chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers during ASID’s annual awards banquet in November. The trio were awarded first place for a residential kitchen and were also recognized in the category “Design in the Details” for the unique detailing of the kitchen’s island countertops. In addition, Belle Kitchen’s Bayer and Desjardins earned an honorable mention in the category of Residential Rooms for a project that also took first place at the Minnesota National Kitchen and Bath Association awards and third place at NKBA’s national Art of the Industry Awards in Chicago.

TreHus honored with another COTY Award

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) has once again recognized TreHus Architects, Interior Designers and Builders with a Contractor of the Year (COTY) Award for its combined efforts in excellence in the category of Residential Historical Renovation/Restoration. The award-winning island cottage, originally built in 1900, is a classic Greek revival. The 1950s kitchen was gutted entirely and replaced with period-appropriate detailing and cabinetry. Mom’s Landscaping is most award-winning MNLA member in 2009

Shakopee-based Mom’s Landscaping was honored with several awards from the Minnesota Nursery and Landscaping Association in early 2009, earning more recognition than any other member firm. Mom’s Heather Grossman earned her first win in the Rear Yard Design category; Jim Sweeney had his third win in the Full Yard Design category; and Dan Wellens also took his third win with the North Western Health Sciences University’s Standard Process Healing Garden in the Commercial Installation Category.
