A resource for everything home, everything local
Whew! It seems hard to believe that 2009 is here already. Happy New Year to you, our loyal and cherished Midwest Home readers.
With the turn of the calendar to another year, many of us find ourselves reminiscing with our families and friends about all that has happened in the past 12 months. Children have graduated and are heading off to college, or into the “real” world. Some of us are now empty nesters. (Boy, did that happen fast!) Others are celebrating growing families with new babies or marriages.
This is a time when we’re reminded how change is omnipresent in our lives, yet so many things stay the same. It’s a comforting feeling, and I like to think at least part of that contentment comes from our homes. They are a constant in our lives; we love the familiarity that “home sweet home” brings.
If you’re like me, you add to and update your home continually, so the “January” title on this issue is a bit of a misnomer: We hope you will refer to this edition of Midwest Home throughout the year. The annual HomeBook is a resource for all of 2009, whether you are going to build that new dream home, redefine a room with new furniture pieces, remodel a kitchen or bath, or simply add a few accessories to your abode.
We hope you find it a valuable source of ideas, inspiration, and the best the Twin Cities has to offer in everything home.
Best wishes for 2009.
