Visiting Cyrus Antique & Decorative Rugs is like taking a trip around the world—China, Pakistan, India, Tibet, Iran, and Turkey are represented in the sizeable selection of rugs available in this Bloomington superstore.

At 15,000 square feet, Cyrus is one of the largest rug showrooms in Minnesota. The store’s collection of more than 3,500 hand-knotted, hand-tufted, and flat-woven rugs is impressive—not only for its size, but also its diversity. Cyrus carries rugs in modern, traditional, and transitional styles in an array of colors and textures that cater to all customers. A wide range of price points ensures that everyone—from first-time buyers to interior designers—will find an exceptional rug to bring home. Among these are several exclusive brands—including rugs seen in national publications such as Architectural Digest and Elle Décor—that you won’t find anywhere else in the upper Midwest, explains general manager Sean Delaram.

The spacious, easy-to-browse store specializes in hard-to-find rugs that are as original and beautiful as fine art. Cyrus boasts an enormous collection of antique rugs—authentic, one-of-kind pieces, some as old as 100 years, that have been reconditioned and hand picked for sale. Cyrus also caters to discerning tastes with niche rugs that Minnesotans would otherwise have to travel to New York to purchase.

Complementing Cyrus’ strength in rug selection is the experience of its salespeople, who have decades of combined experience and are extremely knowledgeable about the rugs on the showroom floor. Owner Alex Farahan says his goal is to build his store’s reputation of value and service “so that when people think of rugs, they think of Cyrus.” If anyone has the knowledge and background, it’s the Farahans: Alex’s father was a rug merchant along New York City’s Fifth Avenue; rugs have been his family’s business for five generations. He expanded the business to the Midwest by bringing Cyrus Antique & Decorative Rugs to the Twin Cities in 1988.
