hedbergaggregates.comThe new Hedberg Masonry Design Selection Center was created in concert with the company’s mission statement.
Hedberg Landscape & Masonry Supplies’ mission is to help its customers be more successful. At the Masonry Design Selection Center, success is measured by customers whose stone selections delight them as long as they own their homes. And this “wow showroom” makes finding the perfect masonry easy. The showroom has the largest number of selections and the most extensive, fully developed displays, says Tina Plant, chief marketing officer for Hedberg.
The showroom moved to its present location in late 2007; a grand opening is scheduled for April 30. The new space showcases the beauty of stone with floor-to-ceiling displays of natural and manufactured products. Applications of stone and brick—a popular combination for many homeowners—are displayed in swatches to help homeowners make selection decisions. Hedberg features stone quarried in Minnesota, throughout the United States, and around the world—ideal for applications from walls to wine cellars and backsplashes to baths.
“We call ourselves Minnesota’s stone experts,” Plant says. “We specialize in natural stone and manufactured stone, and exterior design selection assistance.”
The showroom’s consultants bring a variety of experience to the Masonry Design Selection Center. Some have worked as masons; others have art and design backgrounds. “They’re really good at helping people select their brick or stone,” Plant says, adding that they know how to harmonize stone with the color scheme of shingles, paint, or stained wood.
Not surprisingly, stone is the highlight of the showroom’s vignettes, designed to give customers true representation of how stone enhances rooms and façades. Stone applications are shown for the kitchen, fireplace, interior and exterior accents, beautiful stone arches, and even an outdoor room complete with a grill and pizza oven. “We like to say you can just sink into the chair and imagine yourself there,” Plant says. Many samples are also on large-panel displays outdoors to demonstrate what they would look like on the side of a house.
Samples and displays are important, but the vignettes like those at the Hedberg Masonry Design Selection Center take imagination to the next level.
“It’s an entirely different thing when you’re pouring your coffee in a vignette of a kitchen, and you can see how (the stone) looks all the way up to the ceiling,” Plant says. “You can see the power and the beauty of stone in a large format.”
