Look at the exceptional homes built by Narr Construction, and it’s easy to understand why the company has been successful for half a century. But part of the secret may be President Greg Narr’s philosophy: “We try to look at decisions as how we would want it done, or how we would want to be treated,” he says.

Narr is a second-generation builder who has worked in all aspects of the trade; he started helping his father in elementary school and joined the family business after college. “It gets in your blood; you have a love of creating something,” he says.

Narr Construction builds luxury homes in the western Twin Cities suburbs, most frequently in Edina and around Lake Minnetonka. “We’re more hands on,” Narr says. “We only do four or five projects a year. I’m the contact person; I run the jobs.” He is involved in all aspects of the building process, from design and budgeting through the day of closing, and continually evaluates a client’s plans to suggest budget-sensitive design improvements.

“It’s a desire to get the best product fit for the customer based on their budget and what their needs are,” he says. “I think we are more design sensitive…we probably have the best value for the highest quality on the market.”
People often comment that their Narr-built homes are warm, inviting, and full of character—just as was intended. “It feels like a home,” Narr says, “not just a house.”
