There aren’t many homes in the Twin Cities where you can spend the afternoon gazing across the Mississippi River from the comfort of your living room or deck, and then walk to world-class dining and entertainment.
But this is life at Upper Landing and Mississippi Flats, developed by David Bernard Builders and Developers. The two condominiums are next door to one another, just west of downtown St. Paul and a stone’s throw from the Mighty Mississippi.
“It’s an unrivaled location,” says Michael Noonan, president of David Bernard and Rottlund Homes in the Twin Cities. “There is the advantage of location from a quality of life perspective, but there also is the proximity to all that is happening in downtown St. Paul.”
Indeed, both condominiums are kitty-corner from the Science Museum of Minnesota and just blocks from Xcel Energy Center (home of the Minnesota Wild), the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Rice Park, Harriet Island, and a number of well-known restaurants. Chestnut Plaza, a park, is adjacent to Mississippi Flats.
The Samuel Morgan Regional Trail follows the shore of the Mississippi right outside the door.
“If you work or want to play in St. Paul, you’re a short 10-minute walk from where it’s all happening,” Noonan says.

Upper Landing and Mississippi Flats have distinct personalities. Upper Landing has a more traditional feel, Noonan explains, and was designed for mature buyers who are perhaps looking to downsize. Mississippi Flats has a mix of housing types and is characterized by modern, cutting-edge design.
“There’s also a number of more modestly sized units (at Mississippi Flats) that provide a unique opportunity for first-time buyers or those buyers who are looking to move up into a hip, urban locale,” he says.
Both condominiums offer views of the river; in the case of Upper Landing, many homes look out over a courtyard with filtered views of the river beyond, while Mississippi Flats has a number of units along the water’s edge. Both condominiums offer exceptional construction quality with customizable finishes and secure one-level living. Mississippi Flats also offers the convenience of
a Caribou Coffee shop and an Anytime Fitness on the first floor.
The neighborhood’s proximity to downtown St. Paul is certainly an advantage, but it’s also centrally located to much of the Twin Cities and is only a 10-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis.
“It’s a great opportunity to have the home that you want in a location that’s unrivaled,” Noonan says, “and being able to purchase it at an unsurpassed value.”
