A palette drawn from nature is just one way to bring the outdoors in. For this kitchen, Sandy LaMendola, principal of Twist Interior Design in Minneapolis, found just the right mix of approachable, organic elements to complement her vision. Woods and natural stones coordinate with bold patterns and furnishings with clean lines. “I wanted to create a design that wouldn’t solidly have a foot in traditional or contemporary style, but would feel quite at home in either aesthetic,” LaMendola says.
