A full design-build experience awaits you at Crystal Kitchen Center, which for over three decades has served customers in the Twin Cities. You’ll find endless inspiration among CKC’s many displays in its new showroom, one of the largest in the Midwest. When you’re ready to build the space of your dreams, let the talented and experienced CKC team guide you through selection, design,
and construction.

“We are a design-build firm,” says JoLynn Johnson, president of CKC. “What this means is we are working with you from start to finish. We get to know your project intimately.”

Crystal Kitchen Center’s showroom demonstrates an impressive array of room styles. Here, you will be able to see firsthand different kitchens, whether traditional, contemporary, or transitional. Complete displays give customers an authentic sense of what such a room feels like. “You get an idea of what your kitchen will be like in terms of size and spacing,” JoLynn says.

Among the kitchen displays are:
  • A grand European Estate kitchen, with painted wear-worn finish, prominent hood, elaborate crown molding, and a wood-topped island.
  • A sleek, sophisticated, contemporary-style “loft kitchen” designed with handicapped accessible features. This display has recently won two design contests.
  •  An English country kitchen in traditional style with intricate details.
  • A lodge kitchen with rustic cherry wood cabinetry, stone columns, and a  re-sawn timber floor of reclaimed wood from Lake Superior.
  • An outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, refrigerator, and beer tap. “The flooring, appliances, cabinetry, and countertops will take our Minnesota extreme temperature changes,” JoLynn says.

CKC’s showroom doesn’t stop there. Other displays include bathrooms, a laundry room, an entertainment center, and a wine cellar that holds 500 bottles of wine. Kitchens demonstrate different countertop materials, heights and spacing. Because CKC’s designers are certified professionals, each space the firm creates is personalized to the home and its owners. “You are getting that unique kitchen,” JoLynn says. “It’s not a cookie-cutter kitchen like some other firms may offer.”

Part of the kitchen design process includes a home visit. CKC offers this service to ensure everything the homeowner has or wishes will find a place in the new kitchen. From there, CKC and its subcontractors can do the actual building or remodeling. It’s a one-stop shop, and just one phone call to make if the homeowner has any questions.

CKC has become increasingly aware of green design practices and the use of renewable, recycled resources. The firm is also focusing on aging-in-place designs, for the home to be accessible to its owners as long as they own it.

The team at CKC has many talented and award-winning certified professional designers that bring extensive talent to the kitchen table.

Crystal Kitchen Center frequently offers seminars on such topics as outdoor kitchens, luxury bathrooms, and how to choose a remodeler. Check out the CKC website for future seminar news. While you’re there, use the online budget estimator to help you get started in planning a new kitchen.
