The consensus on Lights on Broadway’s new showroom is overwhelming: “I can’t believe how beautiful your showroom is!” most people exclaim when they step inside.
And with good reason. The 15,000-square-foot showroom, just four years old and located at Co. Rd. 81 and I-694 in Brooklyn Park, transformed Lights on Broadway from a small store into an eye-catching space of home lighting solutions where the breadth of lighting and accessories displayed is rivaled only by the expertise of the showroom’s staff. Lights on Broadway is so impressive, in fact, that it is the only showroom in the upper Midwest to have won an ARTS Award.
From eclectic light fixtures to accessories to art, anything to design and decorate the home may be found at Lights on Broadway. “It’s amazing how many people come into our store and can tell that our buyer has made buying an art,” says Tara Wirz, business development manager.
Lights on Broadway presents customers with lifestyle displays and mini vignettes that show how fixtures appear in a home setting. Look for an impressive display of chandeliers, and a cove lighting display that highlights this popular form of splashing mood lighting onto vaulted ceilings.
In addition to impressive variety, the showroom’s inventory crosses a wide range of price points between value-priced fixtures and high-end designer lighting. In traditional, transitional, and contemporary themes, Lights on Broadway has it all. And, Wirz adds, “If we don’t show it, we can get it.”
Lights on Broadway is affiliated with Lighting One, a buying co-op that helps member showrooms compete on a national level with mass merchant “big box” stores. “You still get the service from us; you get to have the service and sharp prices,” Wirz says. “Our clients can think globally and buy locally.” The affiliation comes with exclusivity—and the satisfaction of knowing your lighting fixtures are truly unique.
“Our service is our specialty,” Wirz continues. “When the client comes in, we listen and respond to what their needs are.” The knowledgeable consultants at Lights on Broadway can assist with planning home lighting layout and design and offers technical assistance with remodeling. The showroom staff also enjoys working with interior designers, Wirz says.
Lights on Broadway recently opened a second showroom at the new Becker Furniture World Home Center. This 8,000-square-foot showroom is adjacent to a 4,000-square-foot house built inside the Home Center; look for Lights on Broadway’s fixtures inside. “It’s a home run for the homeowner,” Wirz says of the Home Center, which caters to every area of the home, from lumber and building materials to the finest finishing touches. “It’s worth the drive, just to check it out.”
Before you visit Lights on Broadway, you may pre-shop its extensive website and e-mail the fixtures you like to the showroom, so the staff will be ready to assist you the moment you arrive. Appointments are not requirement, but are a good idea if you are working on a larger lighting project, Wirz advises.
