Montaggio’s location in the heart of the Minneapolis warehouse district is right in step with the contemporary lines that this showroom offers. These high-end modern fittings—mostly European—suggest a chic urban lifestyle.
“Most of the lines in our showroom can’t be found anywhere else in the Twin Cities,” says owner Kelly Carbonari. “We’re representing a contemporary side because there is a trend toward contemporary bathing architecture, and it is difficult to find showrooms and salespeople that understand this genre.”
Montaggio, a family-owned-and-run business, is a friendly, warm space with sophistication beyond a typical showroom. “We wanted to make a more artistic showing of the product,” Carbonari explains. Products are showcased gallery-style, or in mock room “experience” displays. The showroom carries primarily kitchen and bath products and focuses on 15 specific product lines.
Montaggio imports Dornbracht, Duravit, Villeroy & Boch, and Alape from Europe, and the Toto line from Japan. You’ll find faucets, sinks, water closets, freestanding tubs, sit-on basins, stone products, rain heads of all shapes and sizes, bath furniture, and door hardware and accessories. Many of the fixtures and furnishings at Montaggio are quite geometric, perfect for the homeowner who is remodeling or updating a space to make it more modern. Because the showroom carries only a select few product lines, you can expect unparalleled customer service. Combined, the showroom’s staff has decades of experience and trains directly with the manufacturer. This level of expertise is extremely helpful when it comes to helping clients decide on new fixtures.
The showroom’s sales consultants ask about their clients’ space, lifestyles, bathing rituals, goals, and dreams, which helps them narrow the focus to which products will be the best fit.
According to Carbonari, “Especially in the bath—where the trend is to go for more of a spa-like bath and dressing area—our products lend themselves very well to that. There’s so much out there; once you start looking, you realize that there are limitless possibilities.
“We’re very knowledgeable of the industry, not just our 15 lines, and have been trained in many others as well, so we can help you make an educated decision and give you something a little more unique.”
Montaggio will assist you and your designer, architect, and builder, or work with the homeowner who may not involve the trade at all. The firm can coordinate with installation to ensure the intended look and provides specifications, and a list of tradesmen who have experience with the unique lines Montaggio carries. Browsing is welcome, but you’re encouraged to set up an appointment and bring in project plans for a more detailed discussion on the vision you have in mind for your dream kitchen or bathroom.
