There’s only one place in the Twin Cities that offers the world-renown Valcucine cabinetry system—and that’s Valcucine Minneapolis.

This brand new 2,500-square-foot showroom, on the first floor of International Market Square, showcases the sleek designs produced by one of Europe’s leading cabinet manufacturers. Valcucine is known for its sublime Italian aesthetics, high quality, innovation of use in technology, and modern materials.

It’s also recognized as an especially eco-friendly product for its non-toxic manufacturing process. “Unlike nearly all other cabinetry, Valcucine cabinets do not off gas formaldehyde or petro-solvents from paints, varnishes or lacquers,” says David Washburn, owner of Valcucine Minneapolis, “because Valcucine doesn’t use any of these harmful substances in the production of their products.”

The showroom features seven contemporary kitchen displays demonstrating a variety of unique and familiar plans. Vignettes capture a wide range of contemporary looks and price points.

“Our showroom was designed to provide the feel of contemporary living in a sunny urban space, which is lighted by a wall of east-facing windows overlooking the Farmers’ Market,” Washburn says.

The showroom serves the general public, architects, builders, and interior designers. Valcucine Minneapolis offers kitchen and bathroom design services for clients using Valcucine cabinetry, and installs all of the cabinetry that it supplies.

“Our team of design professionals specializes in contemporary European kitchen design,” Washburn says. “We have worked with most of the area’s top architects, builders and designers, providing kitchens and baths for urban penthouses and lofts as well as for suburban homes.

“We collaborate with homeowners and their design/build team to create the kitchen of their dreams.”

Washburn has been involved with renovation and real estate development since 1977; he started as a carpenter and later became a developer. The Valcucine Minneapolis design team has training in architecture, interior design, and building technology. Also, the showroom is an industry partner of ASID Minnesota, AIA Minnesota, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).

Appointments at Valcucine Minneapolis are not necessary for browsing. However, homeowners should schedule a time for one-on-one design consultations so they may receive the proper service and attention, Washburn says.

“Our mission is to help our clients achieve the kitchen of their dreams,” he says. “We use our training and experience to help them through the process that will result in a kitchen—or bath—that will be satisfying to behold, a pleasure to work in, and a place that will be the heart of their home.”
